GQ & Tissot

Peace to the King Keino B! You have to love people that are all about passing on knowledge and helping out younger brothers such as myself. We lack so much of this in the world that we live in today. Instead of pushing and bringing brothers and sisters along with us, we like to take roads by ourself, and keep things secrete. I have one thing to say to that... "I live in a abundant world, and we can all win", words from another great man, Senyo.

Des and I attended the GQ & Tissot Swiss Watch Collection event at Saks 5th Ave on Tuesday evening. It was filled with a lot of networking and great conversations with many different types of people. We also met some really cool people that we ended up going to a jazz club with later on in the night, those photos will be coming soon.

Something that I took away from this day is confidence! There is a thin line between confidence and arrogance, but the line isn't easily crossed by true and genuine folks. Be confident in yourself, be confident in your craft, and be confident in the universe!

Details

This week is full of designing, brainstorming and creating. Getting things ready for the next season. Des and I visited Soho on Tuesday...I love the energy in that area. I feel like you can learn so much about style and people by just watching the interactions on the street, you dont even have to enter any stores. Everyone is so comfortable in their own skin, and puts together things that are natural and compliment who they are.

Isn't that what style is all about? Making something that can be high end, or thrifted look like a million dollars, not really because of the brand, but because of you.

Just recently reading an article on Bape, it really made me think about brands in general. Are people actually buying into what they a believe in, or just buying something that seems cool. How many people actually appreciate the art that goes into creating and designing, or is that something that is too minimal to think about in this fast stepping world.

Well, ill leave the rest of this to the pictures...

One Accord

On Friday, one of the realist brothers I know... Des came to NYC. I appreciate him so much, because he's a person that makes you better man when you are around him. Going to college together, you can only imagine all the crazy stories we have... stuff to tell our kids one day. Another thing that I appreciate about him and his family so much, is that they always welcomed me in when I came to Chicago. Keeping me grounded and cultured, something that so many people are ignorant about.

Ravi is another one of my brothers from undergrad, a straight up comedian! He's in NY working and building a non profit that is helping many kids in Nepal have the opportunity to continue their education. You should check out the Grassroot Movement in Nepal here.

I'm really realizing that life is so much about sharing.  Sharing stories and experiences that can live on forever. Building with each other, so we can tackle the words problems as a unit. And enjoying each other, because we all have something to offer and give...
